Mike Posner – Gratitude (Live in Myrtle Beach)

Listen to Mike Posner perform a spoken word poem live at the Horry County Fair at the Myrtle Beach Speedway Amphitheater in Myrtle Beach, SC on April 16, 2016! In this video, Mike thanks his Dad in his spoken word poem “Gratitude” at around the 4:37 mark, but I recommend you watch it from start to finish. Check it out below!

This verse could never pay you back.
Shit, none of my friends never had no Dads.
Before we knew I had a sick style, you used to drive me to the studio to rap up on 6 Mile.

You showed me that a real man ain’t afraid because he hugs, kisses, and cries.
April to April stays faithful, loves, listens, and tries.

So when I do find Mrs. Right, you best believe that my game gon’ be supa tight.
Like, you still making Mom breakfast every morning.
You start her car up in the winter when it was snowin’.

Remember when you broke it down in New Orleans?
I didn’t tell you that I had my phone out recording.
I said, “Why did you marry Mom?”
And you said, “Well, Michael, In my heart I knew I loved your Mother.”
And I said, “Is your heart more important than your head in life?”
He said, “I don’t know you’re 28, you gotta figure some stuff out on your own.”

That’s some G shit!
When my son is 28, I’m gonna show him he’s gonna need this.

I thought that was worth a page or two.
Dear Dad, this is dedicated to you.

Gratitude.
Thank you.
