Check out Maroon 5‘s new music video for their 3rd single “Sugar” off their latest album V, which Mike Posner co-wrote!
Having just gotten married himself to Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo last summer, it seems like Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine simply cannot seem to get enough of weddings. So much so, he and his band decided to crash several receptions in the video for their new single “Sugar,” which was released on Wednesday.
In the clip, Maroon 5 travels to a series of Los Angeles-area wedding receptions. At the events, white curtains conceal a stage; then dropping to reveal the band to surprised brides, grooms and other attendees. David Dobkin, the director of the video, knows a thing or two about crashing weddings; having helmed the 2005 film “Wedding Crashers,” starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
“It was an out of body experience,” said Levine of the shoot. “I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.”
The video was filmed on Dec. 6, 2014. Only one person at each wedding knew of the plan because, as Levine told E! News, they “needed a contact.” Maroon 5 played several songs at each wedding, then posed for pictures with guests.
“Sugar” is the third single off of Maroon 5’s latest album ‘V,’ which was released in 2014; and reached number one on the Billboard’s 200 chart. It followed “Maps” and “Animals.” The latter’s video featured Prinsloo. “Sugar” was co-written by singer/songwriter Mike Posner, amongst others. The video will make its TV debut on Saturday, on VH1’s ‘Top 20 Countdown.’ – Examiner.com
