Mike Posner Embarks on ‘The Long F*cking Walk’ – 3,100 Miles on the Continental Divide Trail

Mike Posner has officially begun his next jaw-dropping adventure: a 3,100-mile walk from Canada to Mexico along the Continental Divide Trail (CDT)—and yes, he’s calling it exactly what it is: The Long F*cking Walk.

On Monday, July 28, Mike set off on foot with his trusted coach and friend Dr. Jon Kedrowski, beginning their journey in Glacier National Park at the Canadian border. Their goal? Reach the Mexico border by Thanksgiving—though they’re in no rush and are committed to seeing it through no matter how long it takes.

In Mike’s own words about his decision to take on the CDT:

I’m walking the Continental Divide Trail.
It’s 3,100 miles long.
It’s the third giant physical expedition of my life.

To be honest, I’m not sure if my decision to do this is proof of great inner strength or of a character flaw that threatens to ruin everything I love.
I hope it’s the first one.
But i’m willing to find out.

People ask me why I keep doing this?
Why do you keep doing things that uproot all the beauty you’ve built in your life and could hurt you physically?

Maybe it’s because I’m brave.
Or maybe it’s because I’m broken.
Maybe it’s both.

What I know is this-
I don’t want a small life.
I want a life that makes me feel everything.
I want a life with adventure in it.
I want a life filled up with things that were hard, but that I will eventually be proud of.
I want a life where I earn my own respect.

I’m not running away.
I’m running toward something.
Even if I don’t know what it is yet.

For fans who have followed Mike’s personal transformation over the years—from radio hits to spiritual seeking—this is yet another powerful chapter. Following in the footsteps (literally) of his 2019 Walk Across America and 2021 summit of Mount Everest, this new trek across the Rockies continues to showcase Mike’s passion for pushing beyond comfort, finding meaning in nature, and staying grounded in the present moment.

The Continental Divide Trail spans five states—Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico—and is one of the most remote and physically demanding long-distance trails in the United States. Known for its dramatic elevation gains, extreme weather shifts, and soul-stirring views, the CDT crosses 25 National Forests, 21 Wilderness Areas, and 3 National Parks, making it a true test of endurance and spirit.

In true Posner style, Mike let fans in on the very first steps of the journey with a video posted to Instagram. But that wasn’t the only surprise—he also introduced Alli Schaper as his fiancée! We knew they were dating, but this was the first time Mike made the engagement public, and fans everywhere couldn’t be happier for them.

Also walking beside Mike is his longtime coach and Everest guide, Dr. Jon Kedrowski, who’s helping him take on this new challenge. He’s documenting their experience on Instagram too—so if you want more trail moments and behind-the-scenes updates, be sure to follow him at @drjonkedski!

Mike is sharing his own reflections, trail videos, and music snippets as he walks—reminding us, once again, that it’s not just about the finish line, it’s about the journey.

🌲 Make sure to follow both Mike (@mikeposner) and Dr. Jon (@drjonkedski) on Instagram to stay inspired and keep up with every mile, melody, and mountain pass. This isn’t just another walk—it’s The Long F*cking Walk. And we’re here for every single step.

We’re rooting for you both, Mike and Dr. Jon. We’re with you all the way. 👣👣
