Mike Posner Teases Another New Song, No Album Release Date

Mike Posner teases new song last night on his Instagram that features singer Priscilla Renea with production from Diplo (check out the video clip below for the snippet). Still no word on an official release date for sophomore album ‘Pages’, second single, music video, or even the ‘Page One EP’ that I keep hearing about since September (See Articles: Billboard, The Oakland Press, The Detroit News). According to previous reports, second single “Top of the World” featuring Big Sean was supposed to drop in October and the music video was promised in November by the director himself, but neither one did. What is going on? Is it Mike or RCA Records/Sony causing the hold up? Hmm…

Well, I hope we’ll hear music and album news from Mike soon, like before the end of 2013. That would be great! Am I right?

My Mike Posner timeline:
Before and after Mike Posner released his debut album ‘31 Minutes to Takeoff’ in August 2010 he toured, released music videos, and recorded more new music throughout 2010-2011. Throughout 2011 he did features on other artists’ projects, and he wrote and produced for other artists on their projects as well. Worldwide touring throughout 2011. He dropped his fourth mixtape ‘The Layover’ in November 2011 and dropped a couple music videos. He then dropped new single “Looks Like Sex” in December 2011, as well as a music video. His sophomore album ‘Sky High’ was set to release some time in March 2012, but never did and we were told nothing. Again in 2012 he continued to do features on other artists’ projects, and he wrote and produced for other artists on their projects as well. In February 2012 Mike hit the studio with Justin Bieber, gave him his “Boyfriend” record which he had previously recorded for himself for ‘Sky High’. After toning down the lyrics, Bieber dropped his “Boyfriend” single in March 2012. College performances & other special events, and writing more music throughout 2012. In 2013, Mike continued to do more features on other artists’ projects, and he wrote and produced for other artists on their projects as well. Mike released new songs and covers free on SoundCloud in late 2012 and through mid 2013. Finally in June 2013, Mike announces new single “The Way It Used To Be”, dropped a lyric video, and announced a brand new title for “new project” ‘Pages’ due out Fall 2013. Bye bye ‘Sky High’. Mike reveals that his sophomore album has taken so long to finish, because he felt like only producing for other artists rather than release his own album. But, Mike said he changed his mind and plans to continue his singing career. He toured throughout the summer with Justin Bieber (Believe Tour) and Ke$ha (Warrior Tour), and he premiered a total of 5 new songs live on both tours. He dropped his music video for his latest single “The Way It Used To Be” in August. Mike has been teasing snippets of his new music on his Instagram the last couple of months and keeps promising “Pages is coming soon”.
